2012 BON TEMPS ROULE

I am so looking forward to 2013, as my race plans have been made. It will be a full year for sure with three Ironman 70.3 races, Leadman 125 and IMAZ. I will be making major changes to my training and strategy for races this year as the only way to improve is to dig a little deeper into my body and soul. All 2012 goals were met and it was a fantastic year culminating with a stop at the finish line of IMAZ. I crossed so many personal goals that I lost track and I hope to the same this year. So to say that I am motivated again is a understatement. But the news of the year is that Kiel and myself will be racing together culminating in finishing Ironman Arizona 2013. Bon Temps Roule, my friends as i hope to train with all my ONE mates again this year.

Tour de France week

July 10. 2011--End of a long week of training.  22 plus hours = 246 miles of work..add the last saturday and sunday rides and I have 346 miles in the bank.  wow It is interesting that following the pattern of staying in zone 2 i have been able to add up the miles without injury.  today i through in a one hour TT and came in at 20.7 on the IMAZ course.  the time off work really helped as i was able to train when the heat was down.  HEAT is the big equalizer for sure.  Yesterdays climb up 9 mile hill was over 10 mph...hmmm i might be improving again..nutrition and hydration have been spot on...next week i will hit the pool hard and hopefully a brick session of swim and ride. I still have work to do on the run and i will focus on that after the tour.

saturday today was a good day.  I stayed in Zone 2 and except for the steep climbs....went up 9 mile hill at 10.5 and low Zone 3....after 300 plus miles this week I am still feeling stronger each day...

May 2011- My first Post

Its mid May and I have just begun the training schedule for IMAZ. I am now a member of ONE Multisport triathlon club centered out of Scottsdale Arizona.  I have competed three 70.3 events and ready to embark on this adventure.  My training will be similar to the the Triathlon Bible by Joe Freil.  Being self taught has always been my style but I have learned to ask the young guns a lot of questions since the sport is ever evolving.  I have met many new friends this past four months and with this thing called social media i am hooked up. so now me and my buddy Garmin we are ready to roll.  thge plan will be 12 weeks of base training, 6 weeks of build and 3 weeks of taper.  I have some extra weeks for the Tour de France rides in July,  swim week in June, and a run special in September. An of course injury. Nutrition is what i'm studying most let the fun begin
